Artist Rachel M. Cotton

I am a mom, a wife, an artist, and a creative business owner. We moved to Gastonia, North Carolina in October of 2011, and I was fortunate enough to aquire a studio space in downtown Gastonia’s Arts on Main Gallery, Gift Shop, and Artist Studios.

I am a painter, illustrator and graphic designer that enjoys communicating through aesthetically pleasing visual media. After receiving a masters from Savannah College of Art and Design, working for several years in the print industry, and experiencing firsthand the horrors of the economic downturn, I felt it was time for me to create a successful creative business with multiple revenue streams allowing me to use my talents to help provide for my family.

I am passionate about my work.  Always changing and growing, my work is a direct reflection of my evolving thoughts and ideas. I believe that spirit lives through us all, and my expression of that creative energy is my artwork. I make paintings that inspire joy and delight the viewer with the option of coordinating fabrics, murals, and hand-painted furniture. I create illustrations for children’s book, magazines, and design projects that communicate with purpose and emotion. I design logos, ads, and websites to entice the target markets of business clients. I create for the sake of creativity and purpose. This is my life.

My current goal is to get my work on set in a television show or movie.  Really, is that too much to ask?
