FAQs

Below are some of our frequently asked questions. If you do not find the answer you are seeking, please drop me a line. No questions are stupid. Believe me!

How do I commission a work of art or illustration?

The commission process is outlined below:

  1. I will need to meet with the client to brainstorm ideas and determine some basic factors such as concept, ideas, budget, color, timeline, material, dimensions, and any other necessary considerations.
  2. I will then produce a sketch or a variety of sketches for the client based on the needs determined above. The client must approve the sketch.
  3. I will then need to review all considerations of the project to determine a final price estimate.
  4. The Client will review the estimate, sign an agreement, and pay the pre-determined deposit amount.
  5. I will then work my magic!
  6. Towards the end I will send you photos or meet with you to show you the progress of the piece.
  7. Finally, delivery of the piece and help with hanging or shipment. The final amount is payable at this time.

How long does it take?

This depends on the size of the piece, the complexity of the work, as well as my current working schedule. Turnover for a custom painting can range from 2 weeks to 2 months. I try very hard to work within any timeframes requested.

How much will it cost?

Cost depends upon the time and the materials used to create the artwork. Time is determined by the size, the complexity and the materials involved. By discussing your budget upfront, I am able to make certain we stay within your budget by making suggestions and decisions based on that information.

Will I need a frame for the art?

If you commission a work on canvas, then you will not need a frame. All paintings are completed on wrapped canvas with edges available from 5/8″ to 2 1/2.” These edges are painted and finished to allow you to hang without a frame.

If you commission a work on paper or purchase a print, then you will need purchase a matte and frame. We can, however, discuss frame dimensions that are commonly pre-set, rather than having to have the piece custom framed, if you so choose.

Can I rent your art for my home or office?

Very Soon! I am working on the legal mumbo jumbo and in the planning phases of allowing art rental to businesses and homes. There will even be an option for having a new piece every few months. If you are interested in this option, please let me know!

Where do you find your inspiration?

I find I do not have to look for inspiration. It comes to me from what is around me and from within. I am a very spiritual person, and I find that ideas, insights, and soul-mesmerizing visions are awakened during meditation. Cartoons, nature, people, music, and philosophy drive a great deal of my inspiration, as do artists such as Salvadore Dali, Leonardo Di Vinci, several abstract expressionists, and other artists working within the realm of surrealism, dadaism, and expressionism.
